Health Education: Seven Areas of Responsibility
The Health Education field has been broken down into seven areas of responsibility. Each area builds on the one before; combined these seven areas encompass a broad range of duties that relate to developing and facilitating successful health interventions and programs.
These programs can be designed for various health needs within any given population: public, private, government, higher education or corporate, and can be designed for individuals or groups.
Studies, and history have shown that prevention and early detection/intervention are the most effective way to create change in the health world; while health educators can assist with secondary (treatment), and tertiary (rehabilitation) plans, our main emphasis for improving health is through addressing Primary(prevention) intervention.
A well trained Health Education Specialist(Health Educator), should be able to demonstrate their comprehension and competency in all seven areas of responsibility.
This section will provide you with descriptions of my mastery in each area, as well as examples of my working experience.
